NYC Women's March 2020: Start time, route, road closures, weather and more



MANHATTAN — Thousands are expected to take to the streets of Manhattan Saturday as Women's Marches take place in New York City and around the country for a fourth year in a row.

Once again kicking off on Manhattan's Upper West Side this year, people will start to gather around 10:30 a.m. near West 72nd Street and Central Park West ahead of an 11 a.m. rally with numerous speakers setting the mood for a passionate march down Manhattan's west side and through Midtown.

The actual march launches at 12 p.m., making its way down Central Park West before turning east at Columbus Circle and continuing to march along Central Park South.

The procession will then turn down Sixth Avenue and continue downtown, ending around West 43rd Street, just before Bryant Park.

Formation:
Central Park West between 61st Street and 77th Street

Route:
Columbus Circle between Central Park West and 59th Street
59th Street between Columbus Cirlce and 6th Avenue
6th Avenue between 59th Street and 45th Street

Dispersal:
6th Avenue between 44th Street and 45th Street
45th Street between Broadway and 5th Avenue
44th Street between Broadway and 5th Avenue
43rd Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue

Miscellaneous:
70th Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue
62nd Street between Central Park West and Broadway

Weather for the march:

With a winter storm rolling into the New York area , marchers are expected to face below-freezing temperatures and even snow showers starting around 1 p.m. It's safe to assume the snow won't deter the passionate demonstrators from making their voices heard Saturday afternoon.

If you plan to join the march just make sure to bundle up and wear weather-appropriate footwear to stay warm and safe along the route.
